2024 Quarterly Report 2
The past 3 months have been busy months for CP researchers, with the CP paper notification (accepted papers at https://cp2024.a4cp.org/accepted_papers.html), with the CP workshops calling for submissions and sending out notifications (workshop overview: https://cp2024.a4cp.org/workshops.html) and more. This has been announced on the CP2024 website https://cp2024.a4cp.org/ and its socials, as well as the constraints google group.
ACP.1: CP 2024 in Girona, Spain
The International Conference on Principles and Practice of Constraint Programming (CP) is the premier annual conference on all aspects of computing with constraints, including theory, algorithms, models, solvers, and a diverse range of applications in machine learning/artificial intelligence, planning, and scheduling, to name a few. This is the 30th version of the CP series organized by the Association for Constraint Programming.
It will be located in the ancient city of Girona, Catalonia, at the premises of the old town campus of the University of Girona.
Registration is still possible till 22 August (there will be no on-site registration).
Invited speakers Ian P. Gent and Francesca Rossi have also recently been announced: https://cp2024.a4cp.org/invited-talks.html
There will also be 4 workshops: the 26th international workshop on configuration (2-day, co-located), 23rd workshop on constraint modelling and reformulation, 7th workshop on progress towards the holy grail and the first workshop on discrete optimisation with soft constraints: https://cp2024.a4cp.org/workshops.html
The conference program will also feature 3 tutorials, on domain-independent dynamic programming (Chris Beck and Ryo Kuroiwa), Constraint Programming with JuMP (Benoit Legat) and Constraint Acquisition (Dimos Tsouros): https://cp2024.a4cp.org/workshops.html
A preliminary conference program is here, including social activities: https://cp2024.a4cp.org/preliminary_schedule.html
ACP.2: Varia
There was call for ACP awards for researchers of different seniority: the distinguised service, early career and doctoral research awards. The winners will be announced at the CP2024 conference.
There was also a call for election statements for the ACP Executive Committee, the people who make the association run. Elections are held bi-yearly and members do a 4 year term. The voting part of the elections will start soon.
The ACP webserver had an overdue upgrade, both the virtual machine's operating system and the Drupal webserver hosting a4cp.org were upgraded to the latest version. The transition has been mostly smooth so far.
See you at CP! The ACP executive committee
